Dorothy Blanch Childress

Dorothy Blanch Childress, 91, of Bauxite, passed away Feb. 3, 2014.  She was born April 11, 1922 in Bauxite, to the late Sherman and Rose Thomas Reid.  She was of the Pentecostal faith.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, one sister and husband, Albert Childress.

Lawrence Jerome Hobby

Lawrence Jerome Hobby, 75, of Mabelvale passed away Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014. 
He was born May 25, 1938, in Long Beach, Calif. Mr. Hobby retired from the Navy, having served during the Vietnam War, and later retired from IBM. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thelmer and Zella Hobby; his wife, Antoinette Hobby; a twin brother, Gary Hobby; and a sister, Hazel Martin and husband Emory L. Martin Sr.
He is survived by two brothers, Alfred L. Hobby and wife Catherine and Phillip N. Hobby and wife Dana; a sister, Eva Jean Gehring; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Opal Rhodes

Opal Rhodes of Benton passed away Feb. 2, 2014. She was born July 30, 1907, in Antoine, to the late Rufus Patrick Malone and Dona Ward Malone.
She enjoyed fishing and golf. She started the Longhills Ladies Golf Association in 1956.
Her most enjoyable activity was china painting. She started painting in 1960 and continued for 30 years. Her daughter and grandchildren cherish the many pieces of china they have received from her through the years.
Opal was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Rhodes; five sisters; and one brother.
