Carlene Gray of Benton passed away at her daughterâ€™s home in Pine Bluff on Dec. 4.Â She was a member of Holland Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Gray was preceded in death by her father, Elijah Fitzhugh; her mother, Allie Mae Fitzhugh; her brothers, Calvin and Gary Fitzhugh; and her sisters, Willie Mae Rowland, Linda Chism and Mary Ann Saxton.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert G. Gray of Benton; a daughter, Diana Gray Millenbaugh and husband Bud of Pine Bluff; her granddaughter, Alexis Gray Millenbaugh of Dallas; and many nieces and nephews.
Courtney Brice Pope, 77, passed away Sunday, Dec. 4, in Shongaloo, La. She was born March 2, 1934 to Maben Rogers and Mertice Laverne Thornton Brice in Shreveport.
She had been a resident of Cotton Valley, La., since 1961, a faithful and active member of First Baptist Church and was a retired manager of Recycling Employees Federal Credit Union, Cotton Valley, for numerous years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and was loved by many friends.
Mrs. Pope was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Marlon Pope.
Kara Suzanne Lafleur, our beloved daughter, mother, sister and friend, age 50, of Bryant went to be with her Lord on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, with her family by her side.
Kara was born Jan. 19, 1961, to Al and Judy Parker in Hot Springs.
She was a very valued employee of The Arkansas Heart Hospital, where she served as the business office director.
Kara had a very gentle and loving spirit. Her most treasured times were spent with her family.
She was a member of Park Place Baptist Church.
Sallie Mae (Pat) Harkey Loyd went to be with Jesus on Nov. 30.
She was born March 16, 1933, in Smackover to the late William and Eunice Harkey.Â She was an active member of Indian Springs Baptist Church in Bryant.Â
Sallie was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and one sister.Â
Raymond Arnel McPherson, 88, of Benton, went to be with his Lord on Nov. 30.Â He was born Jan. 28, 1923, to Sam and Ora McPherson.
Raymond was a longtime member and trustee of Kentucky Missionary Baptist Church.Â He had fond memories of his time in the Navy during World War II and of the 35 years he worked at Alcoa and enjoyed sharing accounts of those times.
Daniel Ward Martucci of Benton, formerly of Little Rock, died Monday, Nov. 28. Daniel was born Aug. 11, 1969, to Joan Anne Martucci and William D. Martucci, in San Jose, Calif. He was employed at United Engines of Little Rock.
Daniel was preceded in death by his infant son; his father, William D. Martucci; and his mother, Joan Anne Martucci.
He is survived by his wife, Jodie Martucci and a daughter, Sofia Martucci of Benton; four stepchildren, Kristopher Claycomb, Brianna Claycomb, Mason Goodnight and Morgyn Goodnight; a brother, William Daniel Martucci of Milpitas, Calif.
Mildred G. King, 87, of Benton, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 29.Â She was born on December 28, 1923 to the late William Thomas Gwin and Dovie (Haynes) Gwin in Bigelow.Â
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles King, son, Virgil Dean King, and daughter-in-law, Mary King.Â
Mary Evelyn Evans Gleason, 92, of Bryant died Sunday, Nov. 27.Â She was born June 22, 1919 in Bryant to the late Chester and Bessie Evans.
Mrs. Gleason was a member of Bryant First United Methodist Church.Â She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence W. Gleason Sr.; two brothers, Chester Evans and Raymond Evans; and a sister, Della Evans.
Pearl E. Langley, age 88 of Benton left this earthy world to join her Maker on Saturday, Nov. 26. She was born June 16, 1923 in Benton. She was of the Pentecostal faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lodie Alter Hamm, husband, Reverend William L. Langley, son, Harley Langley.Â
Survivors, son, David W. Langley, Benton; Three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandbabies.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011 at Langley Cemetery on the Kirk Road in Benton.
Dorothy Lorene Atchley, age 86, of Bryant, formerly of Sheridan, died Friday, Nov. 25, 2011.
She was born Dec. 8, 1924, in Prattsville, the daughter of the late James Alison Crutchfield and Lady May (Kennedy) Crutchfield.
She was employed by Westinghouse for more than 33 years. Mrs. Dorothy was recently named the 2011 Southern Trace Health Care beauty queen.
She was of the Baptist faith for many years.
