Billie J. Cooper Honea, 82 of Dayton, Texas, formerly of Prescott, passed away Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown, Texas.
Mrs. Honea was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 32 years, Fred W. Honea Sr.; a son, Donnie Garrett; a grandson, Joshua P. Honea; and seven brothers and sisters.
Billie was born July 4, 1929, in Prescott to Thomas A. and Zula L. Nolen Cooper. She is a former resident of Baytown, Texas, and resided in Dayton, Texas, area for the past 15 years. She was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith.
Sylvia G. McCray, age 95, of Benton passed away Monday evening, March 12, 2012.Â
She was born July 16, 1916, to Russell A. and Laura Rich Garlington in Bryant.
Mrs. McCray was preceded in death by her husband, Ben M. McCray; her parents; her brother, M. F. â€śTomâ€ť Garlington; her sister, Era Lynch; and a nephew, Michael J. Garlington.
Emily Gatlin Lisenbey, 90, of Benton passed away on Sunday, March 11. She was born Nov. 26, 1921, in Traskwood.
Emily was a retired L.P.N. for the state of Arkansas and a member of First Assembly of God in Benton
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Minnie Davis Gatlin; her husband, Eddie Lisenbey;,brothers, Delmar, Houston, George and John Gatlin; and a grandson.
Wallace Ted Vogler Wade of Tucson, Ariz., and Traskwood, died March 10 at his home. He was 67.
Born Feb. 19, 1945, in Memphis, Tenn., Ted was the son of Lewis Arthur Wade Jr. and Dorothy Lorraine Casto.Â
He was the grandson of Lewis Arthur Wade Sr. and Alvina â€śVernieâ€ť Ulmer of Shelby County, Tenn., and Ralph Bob Casto and Ethel Blassingame of Pulaski County.
James B.Â Gately, age 71, of Benton died Sunday, March 11, 2012, after battling lung cancer for several years.Â
J.B. was born and raised in Lonoke, where he graduated from high school. He was the son of Sam J. Gately and Lillie Mae Gately, who both preceded him in death. He was also predeceased by a brother, Sidney W. Gately of Earles.Â
Â J.B. was a Little Rock Police officer for 13 years and worked for Alcoa at Bauxite in the plant security and fire departments until his retirement in 2004.
Paul McAdoo, 78, of Malvern, passed away Thursday, March 8 at Heartland Rehabilitation and Care Center of Benton.Â He was born January 31, 1934 in Pine Bluff and grew up in El Dorado and Traskwood.Â Paulâ€™s second greatest passion in life was driving 18 wheelers across country, the first being his wife and family.Â Other great past times of his included fishing, hunting, John Deere tractors and visiting with friends-especially at the locals table at J.J.â€™s Truck Stop.Â He was a very out going person, never meeting a stranger and always left a lasting impression on everyone he met.Â
Charles Edward Oetken, 60, passed peacefully of heart failure on Wednesday, March 7. He was retired from Kroger Warehouse.
He wax preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Betty Oetken of Benton.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Bishop Oetken; a daughter, Susan Stewart and husband Alan; a son, Charles Brian Oetken; a grandson, Jordan Stewart; a brother, Norman Oetken of Salem; and a sister, Donna Williams of Louisville, Ky.
Funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave. in Memphis, Tenn.
After a short battle with leukemia, Gary M Brimer, 64, of Benton went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 6. He was born July 29, 1947, in Little Rock, son of the late Emmagene Brimer and Marshall Brimer
Gary was employed by Arkansas Refrigeration Company, Arkansas Central Mortuary, and had worked at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth in previous years.Â Â He never met a stranger he didn't like, and was an active member of Social Hill Missionary Baptist Church.Â Gary was active in Scout Troop No. 7.
Patricia C. McDonald, 76, of Benton passed away March 3.Â She was the daughter of Sadie and George McDonald Sr.
Patricia was born Jan.18, 1936, in Gladewater, Texas.Â She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Benton and graduated from Benton High School.Â
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, George McDonald Jr.Â
She is survived by her son, Paul A. Martin of Benton, daughters, Terri J. Barr and Lori Ward â€“HerodÂ of Benton, grandchildren, Thomas Calabrese III, Cristen Langley,Tiffany Dunn and Joseph Eason, all of Benton, two great grandchildren.Â
Dwight Caldwell Sr., 66, of Dickson, Tenn., passed away Saturday, March 3, at Baptist Hospital in Nashville.Â He was a native of Bradford, and was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma Bryant Caldwell.Â
Dwight was a member of the Benton Masonic Lodge, a former minister of music for the Forest Hills Missionary Baptist Church in Benton, a retired certified property manager, and a and a member of First Baptist Church in Dickson, Tenn.
