William J. Kidd, 85, of Bauxite passed away Friday, March 2.Â He was born Oct. 19, 1926, in the Shaw community to the late Moses and Annie Stone Kidd.
William served in the Army during World War II, Korean Conflict and Vietnam, retiring with the rank of major.Â
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bettie Kidd; his brother, Gean Kidd; and a sister, Mary Jane Allinson.
Paul â€śScottyâ€ť Beard, 49, of Traskwood passed away Wednesday, Feb. 29.Â He was born Oct. 25, 1962, in Stuttgart to the late Noel and JoAnnÂ Beard Sr.
Scotty worked at Middleton Heat and Air for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Ron Hodges.Â
He is survived by his wife, Janet Beard; three sons, Paul, Cody and Chris Beard; a daughter, Nikki Polston; four brothers, Davey, Buddy, Wayman and Jayson Beard; four sisters, Karen Duesterhoft, Kathy Beard, Chantae Whitley and Ricki Gail Wood; and two grandchildren, Clayton and Kloey Polston.Â
George W. â€śBillâ€ť Bard, 89, of Bryant passed away Thursday, March 1.Â He was born Oct. 31, 1922, in Bauxite to the late James Arthur and Jewel Ewing Bard.Â Bill was a lifelong Democrat, a resident of Saline County and a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church.Â He served in the 782nd Tank Battalion during World War II.
Lawrence Edward "Ced" Ross, 77, passed away on Thursday, March 1.
He was a member of First Christian Church, was a retired irrigation well driller and an Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Edna Hornbeck Ross; an infant brother; and a sister, Reba Vickers.
Steve Ervin Gossage, 63, of Benton, passed away Feb. 28.Â He was born Feb. 26, 1949, in Sherrill to the late Steve and Ida Keen Gossage.
Steve was a carpenter and a Navy veteran.
Janice Sue Barnard, 54, of Hensley passed away Tuesday, Feb. 28.Â She was born Nov. 2, 1957, in Little Rock.Â Janice was a member of Forrest Tower Baptist Church.Â
She is survived by her husband, Ted Barnard; a son, Teddy Barnard; three daughters, Amanda Fox, Jennifer Rodgers and Carrie Barnard; her parents, Leo and Lou Mercer; a brother, Greg Mercer; a sister, Tammy Hogue, all of Hensley; and eight grandchildren, Kadin Fox, Spencer Fox, Braxton Fox, Dillon Booth, Sydney Booth, Aubrie Booth, Braden Isom and Jaycie Rodgers.
Mary Catherine Willis, 74, of Benton died Tuesday, Feb. 28. She was born July 8, 1937 in Saline County.
Catherine was a homemaker, a charter member of the Lonsdale Volunteer Fire Department Board, a member of the Sharon Home Extension Club and a member of Ten Mile Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Cledies Williams Elliott; and her husband, Harley Gene Willis.
She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Smith and husband Joe Bob of Hot Springs and Anita Willis of Benton; a special friend, Ella Pennington, and her granddog, Khati.
On Sunday, February 26, 2012, angels descended from heaven to St. Vincent Infirmary CCU to take Maxine Honda home to be with her family and friends up in heaven. Her family was at her side. She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Clara Matsumoto-Fukushima and was a member of Second Baptist Church in downtown Little Rock.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Donna Jane Wood, 69, of Benton passed away Sunday, Feb. 26.
She was born in Barrie, Ontario, Canada, to Gordon H. and Katherine M. Scott Sprague. She was a surgical nurse, having retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital. She was a member of the Saline County Master Gardeners Association and North Little Rock Friends of Animals.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Scott Sprague
Richard J. Howard, 80, of Owensville passed away Tuesday, Feb. 28.
He was born Jan. 10, 1932, to the late Sally Houpt Howard and Wilbert D. Howard in Hot Springs.
Mr. Howard was an electrician and a dairy farmer. He was of the Baptist faith and a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Regina Howard; a son, Regie Howard and wife Judy; two daughters, Becka Howard and Robin McAtee and husband Brent; three brothers, Don Howard, Daniel Howard and Bill Howard; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
