Cheryl Lee Vollbracht Burks of Â Benton passed away in Benton, Ark., on Feb. 28, 2014.Â
She was born Nov. 16, 1934, in Camp Point, Ill. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Roy William Vollbracht. Others preceding her in death were her husband of 52 years, Melvin Burks, and his son, Ronald Burks; her sister Wanda Brockenfeld and husband Edward; and a brother, Roy Vollbracht and wife Alice.
Norma Jean Elder, 79, of Benton peacefully went to be with her Lord on Â Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014 with her loving family at her side.Â She was born April 11, 1934, in Booneville, to the late Melvin and Gladys Wilkins Boggs.
Mrs. Elder was a homemaker and a very faithful Christian.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Scott Howard Elder Sr.; one brother, Bufford Boggs; two sisters, Thetia Pierce and Eva Carolyn Boggs; and her first husband, Carol W. Baker.
Marguerite (Greet) House Haynes Layton, 92, of Malvern, started her Heavenly family reunion on Feb. 27, 2014.Â She was born in Hot Spring County, on Jan, 18, 1922 to Tom House and Judy Caroline Ross. She attended Glen Rose High School, where she played on the varsity basketball team.Â
Mrs. Layton was primarily a housewife and mother and enjoyed fishing and crocheting.Â Although she didnâ€™t like to cook, she had a special knack for creating â€śgoodâ€ť meals out of nothing, one of which was our favorite lunch, chocolate syrup and saltine crackers.
Zane David Lock died Feb. 26, 2014, at Saline Memorial Hospice House in Bryant surrounded by his family.
Zane was born Aug. 23, 1977, in Holyoke, Colo., to Ron and Cindy Lock.Â He had three younger sisters, Jade, Gentry, and Alexa.Â The Lock family lived on the family farm near Lamar, Neb., until 1993, when they moved to Holyoke, Colo.Â At the age of 12, Zane accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior.
