Plumer Burnett Peeler, 89, of Malvern passed away Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014.Â
He was born Sept. 15, 1924 in Benton.Â
Mr. Peeler was a retired carpenter. A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Peeler served with the 83rd Infantry during World War II. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge, Battle of Hedge Row and Normandy, receiving several medals for his service including the Purple Heart.
Mr. Peeler was a 50-year member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 217.Â
Leavon Dallas Bowers, 19, of Benton passed away Friday, Feb. 21, 2014.Â He was born July 8, 1994 in Benton.
He was a member of Northside Church of Christ in Benton.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Fay DeSpain, and his paternal grandparents, Marvin and Camilla Bowers.
Chuck Vandergriff, 51, ofÂ Malvern passed away Feb. 21, 2014 at his home.Â
He was born May 13, 1962, in Little Rock to Charles and Virginia Curtis Vandergriff.Â Chuck was of the Baptist faith and worked in sales for Frito Lay.Â
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Eva Curtis Sr., and Pete and Mary Vandergriff; and an infant brother, Clint Vandergriff.
Betty Dickinson Henderson of Little Rock died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014 at Hospice Home Care. Betty was born January 16, 1935 in Denver, Colo. to Lt. Col. W.D. and Vita Dickinson. She attended elementary school at the US Military Academy at West Point where her father served on the faculty all during WW II. After the war, her family returned to Little Rock where Betty graduated from Little Rock High School. Betty graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and met her husband, Don Henderson.
