William Howard â€śBillâ€ť Wilhite, 80, of Little Rock passed away Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1955 and was a Signalman on the USS Roulette.
Bill was a member of New Hope Nazarene Church in Little Rock. He loved his church family and never missed an opportunity to offer his gratitude for their prayers and concerns for him.
Leola Dove, 93, of Benton, passed away Friday, Jan. 3, 2014.Â She was born June 1920 in Perryville.Â
Mrs. Dove was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Dove and her son, Charles Lee Dove.
She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Swaby and her son-in-law, Leo Swaby; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6 at Pine Crest Memorial Park.Â
Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5 at Ashby Funeral Home.

June A. Cochran Collie, 82, of Glen Rose went to be with our Lord and Savior on Jan. 1, 2014. She was born January 23, 1931 in Winchester to the late Moses and Bernice Rogers Cochran. She was a member of Glen Rose Missionary Baptist Church and served our savior by teaching others about the love of Christ in Sunday School, serving in Ladies Axillary, and supporting numerous missionaries around the world. She loved reading, writing poetry and reminiscing of days spent with family and friends.
June was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Bill Collie, 3 sisters and a brother.
Carl Alvin Lavender, 79, of Bryant passed away on Dec. 30, 2013 at Saline Memorial Hospice House. He was born in Prescott, to the late Harold Loyd Lavender and Thelma Bryson Lavender on November 8, 1934. He is a graduate of Prescott High School. Carl loved family, friends, traveling, gardening, and fishing. He was a member of the Bryant Church of Christ.
He is preceded in death by three sisters.
Paul R. Burks, 59, of Lonsdale, went to be with the Lord Monday, Dec. 30, 2013.Â He was born Jan. 6, 1954 in Hot Springs, to the late James W.Â and Royce L. (Roach) Burks.Â Paul was a member of Smith Creek Baptist Church.Â
Paul was preceded in death by his parents and brother David Burks.Â
He is survived by his son, Matt Burks (Jessica); daughterÂ Karen Braughton (Tom); sisters Loretta Hefley (Larry), Wanda Jenkins (Ron) and Mary Crowder (Luke); and grandchildren Connor and Cael Braughton and Coil and Kinsley Burks.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
Dorothy Masoner, 85, passed away Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013.Â She was born March 10, 1928 in Souix Falls, SD to the late Henry and Minnie Dreesman Buus.Â Mrs. Masoner had been a waitress and was a member of Benton First Assembly of God Church.
Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by two sons, Johnny and Robert Thatcher; one great grandchild, Jayden Taylor, and one sister, Delores.
Arthur F. Slaver III, 71, of Bryant, passed away Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013. He was born Nov. 5, 1942 in Cohoes, New York to the late Arthur Frederick Slaver and Kathleen A. (Gilloon) Slaver. Arthur was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of Friends in Christ Lutheran Church in Bryant.
He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Marydell Slaver, a son Artie Slaver and a sister, Kathleen M. Hough.

Virginia Lee Callahan, 85, left her family on earth and joined her family in Heaven on Dec. 28, 2013. Â She was born March 1, 1928.Â Greeting her in heaven are her parents, Ethel Lee and Calvin George Settle, her husband, Dick Callahan, her fishing buddy Sara Cox, and her daughter Francis.
She left behind on earth her daughter, Cathy Jo Treat of Bryant; two sons, Richard Allen Zornes of Bryant and George Andrew Zornes of Siloam Springs; sister, Mary Margaret Chambers of Hot Springs, ten grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren .
Roy Corrnel Bryant, 76 of Benton, formerly of Tampa, FL, passed away Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013. Roy was born March 2, 1937 in Georgia to the late William and Leona Bryant. Mr. Bryant retired from Tampa General Hospital. Since moving to Benton to live with his daughter, he attended church at Fellowship of the Cross and enjoyed going to the Benton Senior Adult Center.
He is also preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Bryant; sister, Eunice Martain Black; and brother, Willy Bryant.
John â€śSmoothieâ€ť Gosvenor, 68, of Traskwood; passed away Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013 at his home.Â He was born February 2, 1945 in Chidester. John was a truck driver for 48 years and was currently employed by Kenny Adams Trucking of Wynne.Â He was of the Baptist faith and an avid fisherman.
John was preceded in death by his father, A.T. Gosvenor of Haskell; his mother, Thelma Gosvenor of Chidester and a brother, Charlie Gosvenor.
