Melba F. Bishop, age 82, of Benton passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014.Â She was born Nov. 15, 1931 in Benton.Â
Mrs. Bishop was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church.Â
She graduated from Benton High School in 1949.Â After high school, she attended and graduated from Draughon School of Business in Little Rock.
Mrs. Bishop worked at Gunnâ€™s Distributors and was employed for 28 years for the Saline County government.Â
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Fern Lovell.
Robert Edward Phillips, 91, of Benton, passed away on Jan. 22, 2014. He was born Sept. 25, 1922, in Marquette, Mich., to the late Harold and Ethel Phillips.
Robert served in the Army during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart.
He was a master watch maker and was employed as a groundskeeper at the Saline County Courthouse.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Bonnie Burnett Phillips; and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by a sister-in-law, Joyce Shelnutt; his caregiver, Tammy Pruitt, and her son, Casey Croy.
Dr. Raymond Gilbert Ramsey, age 81, of Little Rock, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at Hospice Home Care Inpatient Unit.
He was born July 15, 1932, in Little Rock, to the late Raymond and Estelle (Sossamon) Ramsey White.
Raymond married Mary Sue Godfrey in Little Rock on Aug. 21, 1953. They had two children.
He attended University of Arkansas School of Pharmacy and graduated in 1961 with a doctorate in pharmacy.Â He served as a preceptor for pharmacy students at UAMS.Â He had worked for Pettyâ€™s Drug Store (more recently USA Drug).
