Alice â€śPunkinâ€ť Coleman, 61, of Mabelvale went to be with the Lord on Dec. 1, 2013, with her family by her side. She was born Feb. 22, 1952, to the late, James and Allie Gilbert in Little Rock.
Punkin enjoyed singing, spending time with her children and grandchildren and especially her doggie, Sassy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, A. J. Gilbert and Otis Gilbert; and two sisters, Elsie Strickland and Nancy Crews.
Riley Plunkett Gill, Jr., 91, of Benton passed away on Nov. 30, 2013. He was born in Little Rock to the late Riley Plunkett Gill Sr. and Minnie Reed Gill. He was a longtime member of Rose Hill Church of the Nazarene.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Elizabeth Gill; a brother, Glen Ray Gill; a sister, Wilma Gill Grosenbaugh; and a nephew, William Lee Gill Jr.
Jim Lampkin, 78, of Mabelvale passed away on Nov. 30, 2013, with his family by his side. He was born Feb. 25, 1935, to the late Perry and Ila Lampkin in Danville, Ark.
Jim enjoyed fishing, going to the lake with family and was always trying to find a good bargain. He retired after 20 years from Kellwood and then was the owner and operator of Midtown Billiards in Little Rock.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Billie Metzger.
Betty Jean Carman, 81, of Traskwood, passed away from this life to be with her Heavenly Father on Nov. 30, 2013.Â She was a retired nurse and active member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Traskwood.
Mrs. Carman was known for her generosity, especially to those going through difficult times.Â She was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Mae Shoptaw, and a brother, Raymond Shoptaw.
Â She is survived by her husband, Winferd Carman; a brother, James Shoptaw; a sister, Phyllis Shoptaw; a daughter, Jayme Langley, all of Traskwood.
John D. Burris, age 39, of Benton, passed away Friday, November 29, 2013 from a year long battle with Amyloidosis.Â He was born October 17, 1974 in Little Rock, Arkansas.Â John was a member of West Bauxite Missionary Baptist Church.Â He was a loving husband, father and son.
Brian Lee Farley, 55, of Benton, born July 31, 1958, passed away on November 22, 2013.
He was preceded in death by parents, Ray and Mary Farley.
Brian is survived by son, Brian Anthony Farley of Arizona. He is also survived by siblings, Mary Crews, Cathy Ballard and husband, John, Ray Farley and wife Terry, Pam Seay, and Patricia Russell and husband, Bill.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 3 at Fellowship of the Cross Worship Center, 1120 Reed St in Benton, with Rev. Bill Russell officiating.
Jimmey Dean Gross, 79, of Benton passed away on November 27, 2013. He was born on May 6, 1934 to the late, Jessie and Eana Gross in England, Arkansas. Jimmey loved to go fishing, playing cards and dominos and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Frankie Gross; one brother and one sister.
James Vernon Statler, 82, of Atkins passed away Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at his home.Â He was born Jan. 26, 1931, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., son of the late Carol Roscoe and Lottie Belle Casey Statler.
He was a Korean War veteran and a retired crane operator. He attended the Atkins Church of Christ.Â In recent years, he was a loving caregiver for his wife of 57 years, Carolyn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Carol Eugene Statler; and a sister, June Lee Arquette.
Helen Louise Childress, 74, of Bryant went to be with her Lord on Nov. 24, 2013. with her family by her side.Â She was born July 28, 1939, to the late Cleave and Viola Welch in England, Ark. Sister Childress was a true handmaiden of the Lord and worked alongside her pastor husband for more than 37 years.
She loved to fish, sing and cook and watch wrestling.Â Her favorite memories were of time spent with her children and grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Barbara Bussell; and three brothers, Gene, Jesse and Ethridge Welch.
Tina Marie (Oliver) Wingate, 46, of Bauxite passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013 at Saline Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born May 23, 1967, to Doug and Doris Oliver in Bauxite, Tina was the younger of two children.Â She graduated from Bryant High School and was a member of the Stinger Steppers.
After graduation, Tina became an accomplished business woman with a successful career in banking.Â Although she enjoyed success in business, nothing meant more to her than time spent with her family and friends.
