Peggy Jean Carter, 89, of Benton, passed away Nov. 17, 2014.Â She was born April 30, 1925 in Benton to the late David and Myrtle Rupp Carter.Â
Peggy was a hard worker all of her life, holding down two jobs many times.Â She worked in the parts department of several car dealerships and sold tickets at the Big 4 Drive-in Theater. Peggy also worked at the Reynolds Mining Corp and retired as a sales clerk at Walmart.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, David, Dan, Bill and Ted Carter; and a sister, Dorris Carter.
George Carroll Brotherton, 76, of Little Rock, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 16, 2014.Â He was born in Bauxite on Aug.13, 1938, to the late Doyle and Inez Brotherton.Â George attended Bauxite High School and was a 1961 graduate of the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.Â He was employed by Gulf Oil for 25 years and Chevron Oil for two years, where he was a regional manager over the state of Texas and part of Louisiana.Â He retired from Citgo Petroleum.
Mateo Samuel Brown, infant son of Samuel and Wendy Brown, passed away Nov. 13, 2014.Â He was born in Little Rock on Nov. 13, 2014.Â Â
Mateo was preceded in death by his grandfather, Calvin Dewey Brown; and his great-grandfather, Lamar Ray.
He is survived by his parents, Samuel Calvin and Wendy Brown of Benton; grandparents, Lydia Brown of Benton, Atilio Garcia and Anita Ortiz of Guatemala; great-grandparents, the Rev. Carroll Brown and wife Peggy of Bryant; and great-grandmothers, Maura Arevalo and Carmen Diaz of Guatemala.
A private service will be held Monday at Ashby Funeral Home.
