Roy Dean Jackson

Roy Dean Jackson, 60, of Sardis died March 31, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wiley and Maggie Durham of Little Rock; his parents, Roy Obid Jackson and Lillie Mae Kesterson of Sardis; and two sisters, Rose Mary Burry and Cynthia Lynn Kesterson.

Larry 'Bones' Windell McKim

Larry “Bones” Windell McKim, 60, of Donaldson passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Veterans Hospital in Little Rock.
Larry was born Sept. 9, 1952, in Malvern, to Windell and Lula Mae Gray McKim.  He attended Ouachita High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1972 to 1976 as a tank driver and sharpshooter.
Larry owned a logging business, worked at Acme Brick Co.. was a regular at the Donaldson Store and of the Baptist faith. 

Jackie Wayne Baxter

Jackie Wayne Baxter, 71, of Traskwood passed away March 30, 2013, at his home. He was born Jan. 22, 1942 in Fort Smith.
Jackie was retired from Alcoa and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, G. E. and Troyle Rogers Baxter; and three brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Baxter of Traskwood; two daughters, Nelda Flieger and husband Vernon of Greenbrier and Brenda Wheatley of Conway; a sister, Velma Tuggle of Malvern; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Ruth A. Mathews Snow

Ruth A. Mathews Snow, 91, of Little Rock left this life and entered into Heaven on Thursday, March 28, 2013.  She was surrounded by her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Dosia Mathews; a sister, Edna Mathews Townsend; and four brothers, John, Robert, Stanley and Otis Mathews.

Beverly Lanier Kaufman Angrand

Beverly Lanier Kaufman Angrand, 65, of Benton died at home on March 26, 2013.  A talented artist who loved to travel, she was born in Hot Springs on March 31, 1947.
Beverly graduated from Clarendon High School and the University of Arkansas and received a master's degree from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia. She taught art for many years in the Pulaski County School System. 
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Marcus and Margaret Kaufman.
Beverly is survived by her daughter, Monica Angrand of Santa Monica, Calif.; and two brothers, Dr. Dwight Kaufman and Mark Kaufman.

Alexine R. Timm

Alexine R. Timm, 96, of Benton passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013. She was born May 12, 1916, in Sioux City, Iowa, to the late Alexis and Florence Menard.
Mrs. Timm was a lifelong advocate for those in need.  She served as the executive director of the Garland County Mental Health Association and helped found Jackson House of Hot Springs, serving as the first chairman of the board. She was recognized as Mental Health Volunteer of the Year in 1980, and was honored to meet with First Lady Rosalyn Carter in Washington, D.C., as a result. 

Roberta C. Davis

Roberta C. Davis, 84, of Benton passed away Friday, March 29, 2013. She was born June 9, 1928, in Tull. Roberta was retired from Sherwood Furniture in Benton, was a very active member of Parkview United Methodist Church in Benton for more than 60 years and was a member of National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Alma Crowson; husband Harold Davis and sister Dolphine Keenum.

Alma Lindsey Gaines

March 29, 2013

Alma Lindsey Gaines of Little Rock passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at the age of 87. She was born Nov. 30, 1925, to William Albert and Laura May Cox Lindsey of Bauxite, who preceded her in death.
Alma, the youngest of five children, grew up in the rural Alcoa mining community of Bauxite and graduated from Bauxite High School in 1943.

Don Harold Richey

Don Harold Richey, 89, of Benton passed away March 27, 2013.  He was born May 30, 1923, in Benton to the late Charlie and Nettie Richey.
Don worked for Reynolds Metal Corp. and was an avid fox hunter.
Don was past president of the South Arkansas Fox Hunters Association. He owned and bred a dog that has won every major championship in the United States. His dogs have won the International Championship, the All-American Open and the Texas Open.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Wilma Richey.
He is survived by his daughters, Janis Boersma and Donna Corballis and husband Tim.

Roy R. "Mutt" Strange

Roy R. "Mutt" Strange, 93, of Bauxite passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Saline Memorial Hospital. He was born to Robert “Bob” Strange and Carrie Johnson Strange on Feb. 7, 1920.
Roy retired from Alcoa after 23 years of employment . He was a member of West Bauxite Missionary Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran.  
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Steva Lee Bullard Strange; a grandson, Greg A. Caple; a granddaughter, Cheryl R. Hawkins; a brother and two sisters.
