Ronald Allen Prince, 53, of North Little Rock passed away Jan. 23, after a long and brave battle with diabetes and cancer. He was born Feb. 18, 1958 in Little Rock. From an early age, Ron displayed talents both creative and entrepreneurial which would serve him well throughout his life. As a boy, he wrote, edited and published The Arnold Street News, a neighborhood newspaper that also contained ads for Ron’s other enterprises – neighborhood plays and eight millimeter film shows for which he would charge admission and serve refreshments.
William Brian Hampton, 50, of Benton passed away Tuesday, Jan. 24, at his home. He was born May 30, 1961, in Fort Smith to William Burke and Demo Lee (Stephenson) Hampton.
He graduated from Benton High School in 1979 and was a 1984 graduate of University of Central Arkansas, where he was member of Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity. He attended Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Benton, was a member of the First Christian Church of Benton, and also attended the First Nazarene Church of Benton.
Mr. Hampton previously was employed at Benton State Bank.

Margaret Ann Young Nelson, 73, of Haskell, passed away Monday, Jan. 23. She was born October 19, 1938, in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, a daughter of Bennie Tapley Young and Helen Mathis Young Brown. She was a wonderful mother, homemaker, and member of Victory Baptist Church in Haskell.
She was preceded in death by a son Frank Nelson.
She is survived by her husband Ray A. Nelson of Haskell; son, Bennie Steven Nelson of Benton; daughters, Rayann Barry of Little Rock, and Susan Hanscom of Benton; sister, Judy Stearman of Little Rock; eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.Â
Michael “Mickey” Morphis, 62, of Benton passed away on Jan. 23, with his family by his side. Mickey was born on January 31, 1949 to the late, Hays and Donella Morphis in North Little Rock. He served in the Marine Corp. where he received a purple heart. Mr. Morphis enjoyed hunting, fishing, guns and the military. His greatest joys were time spent with his loving wife, children and grandchildren. He was a member of Salem Baptist church for over 20 years. Mickey worked at Union Pacific Railroad for over 30 years.
Noel Lewis Beard Sr., 75, of Traskwood, passed away Monday, Jan. 23. He was born February 24, 1936 in Gurdon. Mr. Beard was a U.S. Marine and worked for Middleton Heat and Air for 15 years. He was a member of Glen Rose Missionary Baptist Church and the American Legion. Mr. Beard was preceded in death by his parents, David and Elsie Faye Beard; his wife of 46 years, JoAnn Beard; two sons, Noel and Bob Beard and a great-grandson, Gregory Lee Beard.
Ruth Ashley, 86, of Benton, died Sunday, Jan. 22. She was born Jan. 16, 1926, in Flemingsburg, Ky., to the late Claude and Eunice (Gordon) Mark. Ruth was a member of Jessieville Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Doyle Ashley; four sons, Samuel, Dave, Russell and Glen Coburn; three brothers, Johnny, Cecil and Kenneth Mark; and one sister, Helen Phillips.
Ruby Burkett Henry Dorrell, 77, of Alexander went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 22, at her home. She was born Dec. 14, 1934, in Lonoke, to her late parents, Carlee and Pearl Cooper Burkett.
Ruby was a retired Realtor and had owned her own construction business, R.L. Hays.
She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 2256 and was of the Methodist faith. She loved her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by one great-grandchild, Ashton Dakota Garrett; one sister, Penny Brown; and one niece, Jenne Brown.
Carolyn Ann Spoonamore Smith, 66, of Sheridan, died Friday, Jan. 20, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock She was born April 17, 1945 at Little Rock, the daughter of the late O.O. and Flora Spoonamore. She was a very active member of First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan, where she was an AWANA leader, choir member, ladies auxillary member, and helped with upward basketball, just to name a few. Carolyn was retired from the federal government and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Clyde Spoonamore.
Darrell W. Lavendusky, 61, of Bauxite, passed away Jan. 20.He was born Oct. 11, 1950 in Henryetta, Okla., to Julius and Belva Lavendusky. Darrell was an employee of Coors Tech in Benton.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Julius Ray Lavendusky.
He is survived by his wife, Mary “Melinda” Lavendusky; two sons, Steve Lavendusky and wife Sarah of Alexander and John Lavendusky of Alexander; a daughter, Jennifer Hood and husband Paul of Bauxite; stepchildren, Melissa White of Benton andMark Orrell of Haskell; a sister, Linda Kay Dodson of Colorado; and eight grandchildren.
Christine Scott Bailey, 78, of Hot Springs, died Thursday, Jan. 19. She was born on May 6, 1933, in Mt. Ida, the daughter of Jewell Jefferson Scott and Cora Margaret Warren Scott. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William E. Bailey; her sister, Patsy Jo Scott Graves; and her brother-in-law, Raymond Myers.
Christine was Assembly of God in her faith and a beloved mother, grandmother and sister who will be greatly missed.
