Ruthie Mae Ellis, age 87, of Conway, passed away Thursday, Dec. 8.
She was born Nov. 16, 1924, in Pike County. Mrs. Ellis was a homemaker and a charter member of Southside Church of Christ in Cabot.Â
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Minnie Troute; her husband, James Troy Ellis; and a son, Tommy Ellis.
Col. Randle A. Yarberry, U.S. Marine Corps retired, 89, of Benton, died Saturday, Dec.10.
He was born in Fayetteville and grew up in Fort Smith. He was the son of the late Ella and Bill Yarberry. He attended the University of Arkansas and graduated from Arkansas State Teachers (now University of Central Arkansas).

Allison Marie Hankins, 22, of Benton, recently passed away.
Allison was born May 29, 1989, in Benton to Debra (Gilbert) Hankins and the late Allen Dale Hankins.Â
Allison was an excellent drummer and guitarist, enjoying all kinds of music.

Kenneth Shepard, 80, of Benton died Wednesday, Dec. 7, in Bryant. He was born Feb. 19, 1931, in Hereford, Texas, to Henry and Mary Shepard.
Kenneth served in the U.S. Navy and retired from Alcoa. He was a member of the Good Sam’s Club.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Herman and David; and the love of his life, his wife Mary Beth.
Wanda Sue Peebles, 75, of Benton passed away on Dec. 5. She was born March 18, 1936, to the late Enda and Simmy Handley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy C. Peebles; and her grandson, Robert Lee Moore.
She is survived by three daughters, Brenda, Patty and Glenda; three sons, Timothy, David and Perry and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Evelyn Marie Collier, age 71, of Benton passed away Monday, Dec. 5.
She was born Jan. 18, 1940, in Middlesex, N.C., to the late Carmel and Stella (Haynes) Finch.
She was a retired secretary with Harrison Plumbing.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glen William Collier; a granddaughter, Samantha Danielle Collier; two sons, William Turner and David Turner; and a brother, Leslie Finch.
Alice Estella Thomas of Alexander went to live with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 5.
She was a faithful employee and extended family member of Schroeder’s Antiques for more than 50 years. After retiring, she was employed at Good Shepherd Ecumenical Retirement Center for 12 years. She will be deeply missed by all of her family, friends and her extended family at the “Cove.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, three brothers, and one son, Raymond Williams Sr.
Walter Don Shoptaw, 87, of Prattsville, passed away Saturday, Dec. 3, at his home.
He was born Oct. 12, 1924, in the Belfast Community, the son of the late Walter Roy and Elby Buie Shoptaw.
He was a member of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville, had retired as a supervisor from Alcoa and had proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He enjoyed farming, camping, hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
