November 3rd
It has not been an easy season for the Benton Panthers. With each new week, a new injury seems to appear, making it difficult for the Panthers to find their rhythm. The biggest loss so far — senior quarter back Dylan Harris. Add to the fact that they play in the 6A South, one of the toughest conferences in the state, and you end up with one forgettable and miserable season.
To start the year, the Benton Panthers showed huge promise as being a contender in the 6A South with a 21-14 loss to now conference-leading Bryant and followed with a huge win over Jacksonville.
November 2nd
Tuesday night was a historic night on the football field for the Bryant Freshmen Hornets. For the first time in school history, the Hornets finished a season undefeated and untied with a resounding 35-0 win over Saline County rival Benton.
The Hornets finish the season with a perfect 10-0 record overall and 7-0 in the rugged Central Arkansas Junior High Conference. Benton closes the season with a 3-7 record overall, 2-5 in the conference.
November 1st
Wow. It happened. The St. Louis Cardinals completed one of the most memorable comebacks of all time when they won the 2011 World Series in seven games against the Texas Rangers. Down 10.5 games to the Wild Card leader Atlanta Braves on Aug. 25, the Cardinals came back the last month of the season to take the National League Wild Card on the last day of the season.
