Last-inning hit lifts Bauxite over Jessieville

The Miners got some sweet revenge Tuesday, and did it in true dramatic fashion.

Bauxite beat former conference foe Jessieville 16-15 on two-run double in the bottom of the seventh inning by sophomore Chris Revas.

The Miners (9-5, 1-0), the defending 3A State Champions who have since moved up to 4A, lost twice to Jessieville last year. Bauxite only lost five games on their way to capturing the title.

Bauxite head coach Michael Mattox said, “Next to the state championship game, that was probably the best game I’ve ever coached.

Sheridan defeats El Dorado, faces Dumas tonight

Although the Sheridan Lady Yellowjackets trailed for most of the game, they were able to rally in the fifth inning to take a one-run lead and eventually defeat El Dorado 6-3 Tuesday night.

Sheridan scored a run in the third, three in the fifth and two in the seventh while El Dorado scored a run in the first, a run in the second and a run in the third.

Sheridan’s two runs in the seventh inning gave the Lady ‘Jackets a three-run lead.
