Benton splits with Lake Hamilton

The Benton boys and girls golf team split with Lake Hamilton Tuesday as the Lady Panthers lost 133-131 and the Panthers defeated Lake Hamilton 294 to 318.
Grace Lile and Austin Eoff earned medalist with a score of 36 and 65 respectively.
“The girls are getting better and they are improving, its just not showing up in the results,” coach Chad Pitts said. “We are playing better golf, but the people we are playing are playing good too.”
Daphne Bono shot a 48, Kayla Payne shot a 49, Karli Lipinski 52, Drew Melton a 53, Jenna Jamison a 54, and Braxton Chumley a 57.

Bryant sweeps before big match

The Bryant Lady Hornets swept three hard-fought games from the Russellville Lady Cyclones in 7A Central action on Tuesday night in Russellville. The Lady Hornets won 3-0 (26-24, 25-21, 25-23) and it was their second sweep in a row, taking three from Cabot last Thursday .
Bryant Coach Beth Solomon called a timeout down 6-1 in the first set and the Lady Hornets were down 18-9 at one point before pulling out the two-point victory. Bryant outscored Russellville17-6 the rest of the way.
“The girls decided they wanted to play and continued to play the rest of the night,” Solomon said.
