The Bryant Hornets and Lady Hornets’ tennis team had a rough time with Mount St. Mary’s Belles and the Little Rock Catholic Rockets on Tuesday at Rebsamen Tennis Center in Little Rock.
The Lady Hornets took home one win in singles’ play and were swept in doubles play, while the Hornets won just one set for the Boys’ 1 and 2 matches, getting swept in both singles and doubles play.
Sophomore Whitney Butler picked up Bryant’s only win, defeating Samantha Cook 8-3 in Girls 2 singles. Senior Callie Hogancamp lost to Mary Menz 4-8 in Girls 1 singles.
The Benton Panther boys tennis team was able to win three out of five matches against El Dorado and Little Rock McClellan Tuesday night at Tyndall Park in Benton.
Benton senior Eric Emmons lost to El Dorado’s Taylor Thomas 6-8 and senior Austin Willis defeated Drew Hazen 8-5.
Sophomore Trey Young lost to El Dorado’s Lawson Smith 3-6 and freshman Morgan Smith defeated McClellan’s Justin Washington 8-5. Senior Nathan Perry defeated El Dorado’s Thomas 6-1.
“We had kind of a rough day,” coach Justin Warner said. “It was probably the roughest day we’ve had since the season started.”
