The Bryant Hornets took first place scoring a 154 at Hurricane Country Club, while the Lady Hornets scored a 139, coming in last on Thursday. Cabot shot a 161 for second and Lake Hamilton came in third with a 165. North Little Rock didn’t field four golfers, so they did not qualify for a score.
Bryant junior Tyler Green shot a 4-under 32 to lead the Hornets to victory. Green started the round with three consecutive birdies and finished with five for the round. He had one bogey on the par-3 sixth hole, but was very good other than that.
On Sept. 8, after their win over Lake Hamilton, Benton coach Brandy Chumley said sometimes the Lady Panthers like to put themselves into holes just so they can get themselves out of it.
Well, against Texarkana on Thursday, the Benton Lady Panthers volleyball team found themselves in one giant hole, trailing 2-1 to the Lady Razorbacks at home.
