Sports rivalries in Saline County have been apart of the counties history for many years. From Benton and Bryant to Bauxite and Glen Rose, Rivalries run deep in the blood of Central Arkansas sports.
The Bryant Lady Hornets improved to 2-0 in 7A Central conference play when they defeated the Van Buren Lady Pointers 49-46 on Tuesday in Van Buren.
Up 47-46 with 10 seconds left, Bryant’s Kiara Moore hit two free throws to seal the game.
“My kids played really well,” Bryant Coach Brad Matthews said. “The Democrat [Gazette] ranked Van Buren second in class 6A. Any time you win on the road, it’s a good win.”
