Benton head coach Chris Nail and senior Luke Vance will participate in the Arkansas Activities Association All-Star basketball game tonight in Fayetteville.
“It is a big honor because you are voted on by your peers,” Nail said. “We’ve had a good time up here and I’ve met some really good kids.
“It has been a great experience.”
Nail said he would use this time to talk shop and maybe learn some new strategies from the coaches.
“I’m around some good coaches up here and we talk a lot of ball,” Nail said. “You always want to do things that are successful.”

On Monday, Ashton Roberts will play in the Arkansas All-Star Baseball Game in Fayetteville at Baum Stadium, and next year he will be playing college baseball at Crowder Junior College in Missouri.Â

BENTON — The Benton High School Summer baseball team got a taste of what it is like to play baseball for a living. With most of the team having played nearly five days straight, including shortstop Brooks Balisterri, and a bullpen and rotation burned up, it was up to pitcher Matthew Krikorian to last as long as possible in Tuesday’s game against Catholic High School.
Having already defeated North Little Rock 3-1 in the first game after Balisterri pitched a complete game, the Benton Panthers were able to hold off a 6th inning rally to defeat Catholic 8-7.
