JONESBORO â€“ Leading 33-29 after consecutive Braxton Chumley steals and layups late in the third quarter, the South No. 2 seed Benton Lady Panthers could muster just six more points the rest of the way and the East No. 3 seed Searcy Lady Lions ended Bentonâ€™s season with a 53-39 victory in the quarterfinals of the 6A State Tournament in Jonesboro Monday night.
LITTLE ROCK â€“ The Bryant Lady Hornets finished sixth and the Hornets eighth, while both Benton boys and girls took 16th in the 2014 7A/6A Arkansas State High School Swim Championships this past Friday with Catholic High School hosting. Bentonville ran away with the state meet with the girls scoring 471 points to top second-place Conway (253), and the boys topping Little Rock Central by 149 points, 409 - 260.
