Hornets shut out Midlothian

March 14, 2015

WACO, Texas – Bryant Hornets senior Blaine Knight, last year's state championship MVP, pitched a complete-game 7-0 shutout over the Midlothian Panthers in the Midway Classic in Waco, Texas on Saturday morning. Knight struck out eight, while Garrett Misenheimer and Evan Lee each went 3 for 4.

Miners' doubleheader canceled

The Bauxite Miners baseball team's games on Saturday, March 14, have been canceled due to rain. The Miners (1-0) were supposed to play Central Arkansas Christian and Mayflower at Mayflower. The Miners will play next vs. CAC at Burns Park on Monday beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Rain postpones Melton tourney to April 25

The third annual Drew Melton-Forever Young Tournament has been postponed to April 25 due to inclement weather. The tournament will be a one-day event featuring 15 of the state's best softball teams. More information will be released as it becomes available.

COMEBACK KIDS: Freshmen shine; Benton walks off

The Benton Lady Panthers defeated Harmony Grove 6-5 at home on Wednesday after trailing 5-1 in the fifth inning. Freshman Rylea Brimhall collected three hits and three RBI in the win, including the walk-off game-winner in the bottom of the seventh to score Taylor Oglesby from third.
Benton moves to 2-1 overall while Harmony Grove drops to 2-2 on the young season.
