Man charged in connection with shooting incident

A man who allegedly shot himself on accident has been charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

On Feb. 16, Josh Tiner, 26, was involved in a shooting on North Summit Road.
“Based on information and evidence gathered, Tiner and another individual were handling a pistol that belonged to Tiner whenever it discharged and struck (Tiner,)” said Lt. Kevin Russell, Benton Police Department spokesperson.

During the incident, Tiner suffered a gunshot wound to his abdomen and buttock area, Russell said.

Update: Runaway teen located

UPDATE: Police say they have located missing teen River Williams. More information will be posted as it becomes available.

Authorities have exhausted their leads in looking for a 16-year-old Benton juvenile who was reported missing more than a week ago.

River Williams’ mother reported him missing on Feb. 11 and told police she believed him to still be in central Arkansas, “possibly with friends or acquaintances,” according to a statement the Benton Police Department released Friday afternoon.

AG, local police warn of possible scams

With the recent winter weather, many residents are working to clean up their properties and scams could be possible.
So far there have been no reports of scams in Saline County, local police officials said.
Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge urged residents to be cautious about seeking professional cleanup help.
