Frank â€śCorkyâ€ť Chenault, age 69, of Benton passed away Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014.
He was born to Floyd and Ethelene Chenault and raised in the Bauxite and Bryant communities, graduating from Bryant High School in 1962.
He was a 1966 graduate of Arkansas State Teachers College (now University of Central Arkansas), eventually getting his master's and administratorâ€™s degrees in education
Daniel "Danny" Davis, age 64, of Benton passed away Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014. He was born March 14, 1949, in Hopper, the son of William Caleb Davis and Sarah Price Davis.
On Jan. 1, 1979, he was married to Marta Pipkin.Â
Jimmy Duane McGee, 51, formerly of Benton, passed away at his Dallas, Texas, home on Dec. 31, 2013. He was a graduate of Texas A & M.
Jimmy worked in the computer industry.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Roy McGee; and both sets of grandparents, the McGees and Maddoxes
â€śAll things pinkâ€ť would be the perfect way to describe Christine Huggins. Pink roses, pink clothes, pink dishes, pink earrings, pink handbag, pink whatever; if it was pink, it was made for her.
Christine Sweeten Huggins, 92, of Bedford, Texas, was born at home in Grant County on Dec. 1, 1921, to Lonnie E. and Leah Rucker Sweeten. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Bauxite.
Robert E. Lawrence Sr., 87, of the Shaw community died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014.Â He was born May 27, 1926, in Tulip to the late Fred D. and Vella Styles Lawrence.
He was a mechanic.Â
In addition to his parents, his wife Virginia E. Lawrence also preceded him in death.
Helen M. (Gentry) Halpine, 84, of Alexander went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at her home.Â She was a homemaker and a wonderful, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.Â Her family was the love of her life and she devoted her every moment to being sure they were happy.Â
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie M. Halpine Sr.
She is survived by a daughter, Phyllis Sugg (Rick); three sons, Mike Halpine, Jr. (Vickie), Roy Halpine (LeAnna) and Ronnie Halpine (Carla); nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Howell â€śH.A.â€ť Steele, 85, of Benton passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at his residence.Â He was born in Benton on March 28, 1928 to the late H.A. Steele Sr. and Pearl Buffington Steele.
H.A. retired as president of the Hurricane Creek Federal Credit Union in October 2013.Â He also retired from Reynolds and served as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.
H.A. served on the board of directors for Saline Memorial Hospital from 1970 to 1978.Â He was a member of the Optimist Club and Razorback Club.Â
Patricia L. â€śPattyâ€ť (Ryan) Brookins, 66, of Benton, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014.
She retired from Baptist Health Medical Center after 35 years of nursing and practiced nursing for 44 years.
She was of the Baptist faith. Her family and friends will remember her caring and compassionate spirit, having received numerous honors from her career. She will also be known for her strong and perservering disposition.
She was predeceased by her parents, Nolan and Hazel Ryan of Benton.
Wilma Jean Shelnut Bradford, 78, of Benton died Monday, Jan. 13, 2014. She was born Nov. 2, 1935, in Benton to the late Harlon and Zella Shelnut.
She is survived by two daughters, Wanda Posey and Vickie Riley of Benton; one grandson, Justin, and one granddaughter, Angela; and a great-granddaughter, Katlin. Also surviving is a sister, Lottie Jo Rosales of California.
Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.

Dwight Shelton Meeks, 91, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014.Â He was born Sept. 21, 1922, in Chidester, to Luther W. and Leona Rogers Meeks.
Mr. Meeks was a member of Indian Springs Baptist Church in Bryant.Â He was a Gideon and had previously served as a deacon at Cullendale First Baptist Church in Camden.
