Panthers lose, but get what they need

LITTLE ROCK – Lack of offense did it again for the Benton Panthers as they fell 4-3 to the Little Rock Central Tigers at Buddy Coleman Field in Little Rock in non-conference action on Monday to end the regular season. The Panthers start the State Tournament on Thursday against Jacksonville having lost 5 of their last 6 games after a 10-game winning streak. Benton was just 3 for 23 at the plate on Monday and the Panthers are hitting just .203 (26 of 128) in their past five losses.

For many years my minister spouse has collected what is known among the church folk as bulletin bloopers.
These are basically mistakes — some caused by typos, some resulting from misplaced words, some stringing the wrong words together that change the meaning, often drastically and embarrassingly so — but basically they're little pieces of funny stuff that weren't intended to be so.

Davis Elementary student wins prestigious national math award

Jade Ma, Davis Elementary student, recently earned the prestigious distinction as a winner in the national Noetic Learning Math Contest.
According to Donna Peters, math teacher and coach, the contest is an elementary math problem-solving contest held twice a year.
Peters said 12,630 young students, representing 649 teams across the country, participated in the spring contest.
