Hugh Edwin Phelan, 93, of Donaldson, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 11, at Hot Spring County Medical Center in Malvern. He was born March 30, 1918, to Thomas and Maude Phelan in Malvern. He was a Christian and worshiped at Donaldson Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a member. He taught Sunday School and was active in the construction of the current church building. He retired as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force. He had served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a B-17 bombardier during World War II.
Susan Gregory Baldwin passed over into glory Feb. 7 after an extended illness. She was born Aug. 23, 1961.
She was a longtime resident of Benton, before relocating to Sophia, N.C.
Fred Morgan (Tony) Hogue, 93, of Benton passed away Monday, Feb. 13.Â He was born Dec. 4, 1918, in Bauxite to the late Jim and Lillie Hogue.
Tony was a member of First United Methodist Church in Benton, was an avid golfer and was especially fond of Silver Springs Golf Club and Menâ€™s Golf Association. He was a proud World War II veteran, serving as a Seabee in the South Pacific for four years.
