SYDNEY â€” Investigators believe the missing Malaysia Airlines plane flew on autopilot for hours before crashing into a remote part of the Indian Ocean, Australian officials said Thursday as they announced another shift in the search area for the jet.
After analyzing data exchanged between the plane and a satellite, officials believe Flight 370 was on autopilot the entire time it was flying across a vast expanse of the southern Indian Ocean, based on the straight path it took, Australian Transport Safety Bureau chief commissioner Martin Dolan said.
LITTLE ROCK â€” A district chairman with the Republican Party of Arkansas resigned after he was quoted saying that Hillary Clinton "would probably get shot at the state line" if she ran for president in 2016, the GOP announced Wednesday.
GOP Chairman Doyle Webb says Johnny Rhoda stepped down as 2nd District Republican chairman Wednesday. The day before, U.S. News & World Report reported that Rhoda said in an interview that he didn't believe Clinton was popular in Arkansas and that a presidential campaign wouldn't be well-received.
The Benton parks and recreation department will conduct a public hearing at 6 p.m. today to get public input regarding improvements at Ralph Bunche Park.
Parks director John Eckart has stated that he wants to apply for grants to make improvements at the park but wants public opinion on what improvements should be made.
The hearing will take place at the Ralph Bunche Community Center.
An additional public hearing will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, in the council chambers at Benton Municipal Complex.
