You could say winning the Walmart Open on Beaver Lake is sort of a Blaylock family tradition.
At least, it is now after Keeton Blaylock, 20, of Benton won the FLW Tour event held March 3-6 as a co-angler, earning $20,000.
His brother, Stetson Blaylock, 23, of Haskell, a professional on the tour, won the four-day event event three years ago.
This was the younger Blaylock's first tournament win, and one that he said held special meaning, considering its location.
Larry Wayne Wood Sr., 61, of Mabelvale went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 10, 2011.
He was born Sept. 3, 1949, in Tulare, Calif. Larry served in the U.S. Air Force as a firefighter for 20 years and retired in 1988 with the rank of master sergeant from the Little Rock Air Force Base. He was a member of the Sardis United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mildred; a sister, Linda; a brother, Gene; and one grandson, Alexander.
