Wilma C. Pelton, age 73, of Benton went to be with our heavenly father Friday October 31, 2014.
She was born May 6, 1941.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold Pelton and two sisters, Violet Spicer and Bessie Jaggers.

Saline County woman scheduled to receive pardon from Gov. Beebe

Gov. Mike Beebe announced Wednesday that he intends to grant 25 pardons, including one for a Saline County woman.

According to a release issued by the governor’s office, Julie McCown Gladden Shelby of Benton will be among the individuals pardoned by Beebe.

Shelby was charged in 2007 for attempting to obtain drugs by fraud.

“All terms of the applicant’s sentence have been completed and there have been no further criminal-law violations," the release states. "There are no law-enforcement objections to the application."

No other details were available about the incident.
