HOLLENBECK: When a mop is not a mop, or cleaning a floor with imagination

October 10, 2011

I look forward to a serious mopping project with about the same degree of enthusiasm I reserve for surgery sans anesthesia or being rolled buck naked on a gurney around the courthouse square.
Domestic chores in general are not the sort of thing that get me revved up, but eventually as they say in the commune, someone has to take out the garbage.
And so it goes with mopping at our house. The time comes when it has to be done.

Sheridan drops to defending champs El Dorado, 38-7

October 10, 2011

The class 6A No. 1 team in the state, the El Dorado Wildcats, wasted little time in dispatching the Sheridan Yellowjackets 38-7 at Yellowjackets Stadium on Friday night.
“We got outplayed and out-coached,” Sheridan Coach Louis Campbell said. “It wasn’t even a ballgame. Their bus driver beat our bus driver.”
The Wildcats (6-0, 3-0 6A South) scored 21 points in the first quarter and was up 35-0 at half time, invoking the mercy rule, where the clock stops for timeouts and injuries only.
