Owen Beck Shelman

October 7, 2014

Owen Beck Shelman of Benton was born Sept. 19, 2014, at just 26 weeks' gestation weighing 2 pounds and 2 ounces. He was small but strong. Though he was here but for a short time, he was loved by hundreds.
God gave the world this sweet little boy to touch our hearts and change our lives, and that he did.
Owen passed away on Oct. 4, 2014. He will never be forgotten.

Wilbur L. Gilbert

Wilbur L. Gilbert, age 65, of Mabelvale, passed away Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014.
He was born Dec.19, 1948, in Kankakee, Ill.
Wilbur was a Vietnam Army veteran and a retired truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Lucille Gilbert; his brothers, Bob, David and Danny; and a sister, Patricia.

Herman Lee Moore

Herman Lee Moore died under hospice care on Oct. 3, 2014, in Ridgeland, Miss., at the age of 86.
Herman was born May 23, 1928, in Belfast, Ark., to Elsie Trout Moore and Burleigh Delpho Moore. He was one of six children.
The family moved to Little Rock in 1935, where Herman graduated from Little Rock High School and later attended Little Rock Junior College. He went on to graduate from Louisiana State University in 1950 with a degree in journalism.

John Anderson Pierce

John Anderson Pierce, 75, of Haskell passed away Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, at his home.
He was born April 21, 1939, in Bearden.
John retired after 30 years of employment with Interstate Sign Co. He was an Air Force veteran and a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Garland and Georgie Pierce; his brothers, William David Pierce, Charlie Pierce and Curtis Pierce; his sister, Daisy Hood; two sons-in-law, Anthony Hinds and Paul Baker; and a great-grandson, Dylan Baker.
