Realtor's death causes policy changes

October 4, 2014

Realtor Beverly Carter of Scott was reported missing on Sept. 25. A few days later, the body of the 49-year-old woman was found buried in a shallow grave on Highway 5 in Cabot. Aaron Lewis, 33, has been charged with capital murder and kidnapping in connection with the incident.

Carter's death has caused Realtors across the state and throughout the nation to change policies for safety reasons.

"We will make changes. Her death will not be in vain," said Betsy Arey, Crye-Leike broker in the local community. "Our world is changed, and we have to change with it."
