UPDATE: Two injured in fatal I-30 accident still hospitalized

Two injured victims involved in Friday's fatality accident that killed one and injured four others on Interstate 30 near the Alcoa Road Exit in Benton are still hospitalized.

Betty Moore, 69, of Little Rock was taken by MedFlight to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences on Friday after the vehicle she was a passenger in was hit in the rear end twice.

UAMS personnel would not release information pertaining to her condition, but did verify that she was still hospitalized.

City passes long-range water plan

The Bauxite City Council approved a long-range plan for the city's existing public water system during a regular council session Monday night. Gary Beck of the water department had spoken to the council about this plan during in a May 19 meeting.

The plan is required under section VII.H of the Arkansas Rules and Regulations Pertaining to Public Water systems.

The plan must be updated at least every five years and must cover a planning period of at least 10 years.

Ezell named Gatorade POY

Talk about capping off your high school career in style. Roughly a month after the Bryant Hornets won their third 7A State Championship in the past five seasons, former Hornets shortstop Trevor Ezell was honored with the Gatorade Player of the Year award on Monday at Bishop Park in Bryant.
“It is kind of hard to believe,” Ezell said. “It is a great honor. I’ve been playing with and against some of the greatest kids in the state, so to be named that really feels special. It is definitely humbling for me.”
