Suspect posing as vacuum cleaner salesman arrested for theft

Andre White, 24, of Little Rock was arrested June 21 as a suspect in a recent theft. According to the Benton Police Department, White posed as a vacuum cleaner salesman.

Days after demonstrating how to use the vacuum cleaner, the homeowner noticed discrepancies to his/her bank account and filed a report.

White allegedly stole personal checks from the residence during the time of the demonstration.

White has been charged with felony theft of property and is being held at the Saline County Detention Center.

Dodgers ace and southpaw Clayton Kershaw’s performance against Colorado was above and beyond any other no-hit feat in history. No runs, no hits, no walks and 15 strikeouts in just 107 pitches.

Ethics complaint against McMahan dismissed

An ethics complaint filed against Bauxite Mayor Johnny McMahan by Bauxite resident Deborah Purifoy has been dismissed.

The complaint, filed April 1, alleged that McMahan utilized city resources to advocate the passage of a half-cent sales and use tax measure presented to Bauxite voters on May 20, 2014.

The proposed tax failed by seven votes.
