Arkansas House of Representatives rejects "Private Option"

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) -- A compromise plan for Medicaid expansion in Arkansas remained stalled in the state House Thursday, despite the state Senate endorsing a plan to continue the nationally watched program that is providing subsidized health coverage to more than 87,000 people.

James 'Pal' Burton

James "Pal" Burton, 97, of Tull passed away Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014.
He was born July 20, 1916 in Tull.
Mr. Burton was a member of Saline Missionary Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and he loved his family. 
He was a carpenter by trade, building or remodeling several houses in the Tull community.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman and had a great love for nature and animals. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Wylie Burton and Dora Ashcraft Burton; his wife, Fern Burton; one brother; and six sisters.

Marva Joyce Reed

Marva Joyce Reed, 69, of Benton passed away Monday, Feb. 17, 2014.
She was born May 10, 1944, in Hot Springs. 
Mrs. Reed retired from the Arkansas Health Center and was a member of Ten Mile Missionary Baptist Church.  She was a very proud member of the “Baseball Nanas." 
Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Arvelee Teague; two brothers, Marion Lee Teague and Ronnie Teague; and a sister, Sherland McNeely.
