Anyone looking for barbecue in the upcoming Fourth of July weekend should be mindful that the Que'n in the Park State BBQ Championships will be held July 4 and 5 in Benton.
The winner will receive an American Royal Qualifier and a Jack Daniels Invitational Qualifier place.
The event will take place at the Saline County Fairgrounds. It is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society, which is the largest sanctioning body in the world.
Organizers of the event say, "You'll have some of the best pros in one spot this weekend."
A group of adults who attend Civitan Services were in shock when Byron Wilcott said he was bullied when he was younger.
Wilcott, standing 6 feet and 5 3/4 inches tall, is a professional wrestler with the National Wrestling Alliance who goes by the stage name Big Daddy Yum Yum while in the ring.
When he was younger, he was tall and skinny and other students called him "giraffe," he said.
"Anybody can be bullied," he said.
