Alderman Brenda Miller is seeking re-election to the Bryant City Council.
Miller currently holds the council's Ward 4, Position 1 seat.
"I believe solid background and experience leads to good decisions with local government issues and citizen trust to continue building a progressive Bryant now and for future generations to enjoy," Miller said.
During Miller's 25 years of residency in Bryant, she has seen the city's population grow from "about 4,000 to over 18,000 today."
Benton Police Department
â€¢ A Benton woman reported that a money order she purchased at the Benton Walmart store was cashed at the Bryant Walmart without her knowledge. She had purchased the money order to pay her rent. Records of the transaction indicate the driver's license number of the individual who cashed the order was copied.
â€¢ A homemade two-axle, flatbed trailer was reported stolen from Weiss Towing on South Second Street.
The city of Bryant has announced the closure of Henson Place beginning Wednesday, July 30.
According to Mayor Jill Dabbs, the city will be installing culverts across the roadway to improve drainage and prevent flooding in the area.
This road will be closed until the construction work is completed.
Dabbs said the city will make every effort to complete the project before the start of a new school term.
