Lady Panthers fall at very end

The Benton Lady Panthers fell 55-54 to the defending 6A State Champion Greenwood Lady Bulldogs in the quarterfinals of the 6A State Tournament on Sunday night at Siloam Springs High School. The South No. 4 Lady Panthers led 54-52 over the Central No. 1 Lady Bulldogs with 20 seconds left before a turnover and layup by Greenwood helped turn the tide. The Lady Panthers finish the season at 16-14.

Tigers too much for Lady Hornets

The Central 3 seed Bryant Lady Hornets fell 56-41 to the East 3 seed Little Rock Central Lady Tigers on Sunday in the quarterfinals of the 7A State Tournament at Springdale Har-Ber High School. Bryant finishes its year with a 15-13 record.

Panthers swept up by Cyclones in 1st round

The South No. 5 seed Benton Panthers fell 58-46 to the Central No. 2 seed Russellville Cyclones in the first round of the 6A State Tournament on Saturday night at Siloam Springs High School. The Panthers finish the season 16-12.

Benton eases by Marion in 1st round

The South 4 seed Benton Lady Panthers defeat the East 3 seed Marion Lady Patriots 58-50 in the 1st round of the 6A State Tournament at Siloam Springs High School. Benton takes on defending 6A State Champs and Central 1 seed Greenwood Sunday at 7 p.m.

Lady Hornets survive 1st round with OT win

The Central No. 3 seed Bryant Lady Hornets beat the West 3 seed Bentonville Lady Tigers 64-59 in overtime on Saturday. Bryant (15-12) will take on the East 1 seed Central Lady Tigers Sunday at 3:30 at Springdale Har-Ber High School.

State Basketball Tourney games ppd for 2nd straight day

Because of winter weather which dropped snow and ice over the entire state, the Arkansas Activities Association has postponed Thursday’s state tournament play in all classes 7A, 6A, 5A, 4A, 3A, 2A and 1A., delaying the start or continuation of tournament play for the second straight day.

The postponement will which push the semifinal round in each classification to next week, and will keep the State Finals which are scheduled for March 12-14 at Hot Springs’ Bank of the Ozarks Arena on schedule.

The starting times will remain the same for all state tournament games.
