Dream Team would smash 2012 squad

July 13, 2012

Well Kobe Bryant has opened his mouth at the wrong time once again. On Wednesday, Kobe stated that his 2012 U.S. Olympic team that will be competing in London could beat the 1992 Dream Team that won gold.
Really? Did my ears really hear that? Who in their right mind could possibly think their team has what it takes to take down the greatest assembled team the world has ever, and possibly will ever see again? I thought Kobe was a conceited punk before and this just proves my point.

Briggs makes picks for MLB’s 2012 postseason

July 9, 2012

Now that the All Star break is here, the Road to October has officially begun. While there are no teams in Major League Baseball running away with their respective divisions, it is quite difficult to say who will and will not make the postseason come early October. Of course, just like every year, there are two or three teams near the top of the division that are surprising the nation. Take the Pittsburgh Pirates for instance. Last season at the break, the Pirates were leading the National League Central but finished 24 games out of first when it was all said and done.

Briggs: UFC 148 could be biggest, best ever

July 6, 2012

If there is a bigger name in the UFC than Anderson “The Spider” Silva, I, nor has the rest of the world ever heard of him. Quite frankly, Silva may be the biggest star to ever step into the octagon. He is the champion of champions; the fighter of all fighters. He is the UFC. By many standards, he has already surpassed any other fighter in the sport’s history with his title defenses and his pure skill. Tabbed as the best “pound-for-pound fighter” in the world, Silva has yet to disappoint.

“They’re going to get a good one,” Bock said. “He’s going to be able to hit at that level. He’s a very good outfielder. This year, he had to move to first base, picked it up real easy and did a tremendous job for us. They’re going to have a utility player there.”
