Bryant V-baller to play at next level

April 12, 2012

BRYANT – Bryant Lady Hornets senior Brianna White signed a letter of intent to play volleyball with the University of Arkansas Fort Smith Lady Lions on Wednesday afternoon in the Bryant gym. White joins a Lady Lions team that went 27-8 last year and made it to the NCAA Division II South Central Region Tournament.

“I think she’s really going to help their program,” Bryant Head Coach Beth Solomon said. “We’re going to hate losing her. She’s been our middle leader for three years now. It’s going to be hard for us to lose her, but we wish her the best.

The Benton Lady Panthers made short work of JA Fair on Tuesday as they extended their winning streak to 12 with a 15-0 rout. Both coaches agreed to put in a five-run limit per inning rule before the game started.

Bauxite routs Pulaski Academy

April 4, 2012

BAUXITE – The Bauxite Lady Miners’ last two games have been ones of extremes. On Friday, the Lady Miners lost 12-1 to the Nashville Lady Scrappers in 7-4A conference action, and on Monday, Bauxite routed the Pulaski Academy Lady Bruins 17-0 to win its first conference game of the year.

Though the Lady Miners (3-5, 1-2 7-4A) lost big to Nashville, Bauxite Coach Wes Mode was more pleased with how his team played against the Lady Scrappers than in the 17-0 shellacking of the Lady Bruins.
