When I visited recently with the three Roberts brothers one thing kept coming up: They made it clear that the support and encouragement from their parents enabled them to excel at whatever they tried.
On Monday, Ashton Roberts will play in the Arkansas All-Star Baseball Game in Fayetteville at Baum Stadium, and next year he will be playing college baseball at Crowder Junior College in Missouri.

Benton Panthers hold on for win over Catholic

June 15, 2011

BENTON — The Benton High School Summer baseball team got a taste of what it is like to play baseball for a living. With most of the team having played nearly five days straight, including shortstop Brooks Balisterri, and a bullpen and rotation burned up, it was up to pitcher Matthew Krikorian to last as long as possible in Tuesday’s game against Catholic High School.
Having already defeated North Little Rock 3-1 in the first game after Balisterri pitched a complete game, the Benton Panthers were able to hold off a 6th inning rally to defeat Catholic 8-7.
