Alberta Harris

Alberta Harris, 74, of Bryant, passed away June 24. She was born October 3, 1936, in Glenwood, to the late Elbert and Loka Barrett. She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church.
Alberta was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Chester Harris, Sr., and granddaughter, Abigail Lynn Cox, and sisters, Icie Harris and Binnie Hendrix.
Survivors include sons, Chester Harris, Jr., and wife, Vickie, of Benton, Jerry Harris, of Haskell, daughters, Margie Akins and husband, George, of Bryant, Judy Wilson and husband, Lloyd, of Texas, Shirley Kirk and husband, Skip of Hot Springs, brother, Alfred Harrell, Little Rock, sister, Clara Spears, Benton, 16 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Jason Harris, Stephen Harris, Matthew Harris, Jeremy Lattin, Brian Wilson, Larry Wilson. Honorary pallbearers are Daniel Cox, Wayne Marsden and Ryan Ganza.
A funeral service is by Ashby Funeral Home and will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Calvary Assembly of God with Randy Roach officiating. Burial will follow at Social Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be at 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday at Ashby Funeral Home.
Family Comments:  Alberta will be remembered by everyone that ever entered her home by never leaving without something or being fed. She lived 40-plus years on Gattin Road. Alberta was known as “Sweet Grandma” to all her grandkids and was happy with quick wit and sense of humor. Alberta always treated her sons and daughter-in-laws as if they were her own children and will leave behind her special dog, Angel Baby “PePe.” Alberta was also a cancer survivor.
