Alleged credit card thief caught

A woman who allegedly used a stolen credit card to make large purchases in Bryant has been arrested.

Days after the Bryant Police Department asked for residents' assistance in locating Brandy Leeann Griffin of Hot Springs National Park, she was arrested in Little Rock, said Sgt. Todd Crowson, Bryant Police Department spokesperson.

Griffin, 26, allegedly used the stolen credit card to purchase $2,435.92 worth of merchandise from Walmart and about $1,850 worth of merchandise from Lowes.

The card also was used at Cabot and Little Rock, he said. It is believed to have been stolen from a vehicle in Bryant.

Griffin is detained at the Saline County Detention Center and has been charged with theft by receiving and fraudulent use of a credit card.

Her bond has been set at $2,500, according to the Saline County Sheriff's Office Inmate Roster.
