Alpha Latisha Yates

Alpha Latisha Yates, 55, of Traskwood, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 14.  She was born Feb. 12, 1956, in Saline County to Vernon and Frances Buffington.  Alpha was of the Baptist faith, a retired LPN and enjoyed scrapbooking and crafts. 
She was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Buffington; an infant daughter, Kathleen Yates; and two brothers, Mac and Tim Buffington.
 She is survived by her husband, Jerry Yates of Traskwood; her mother, Frances Buffington of Benton; three sons, Eric Yates and wife Sarah of Traskwood, Vernon Eli Yates and wife Angela of Traskwood, and Daniel Yates and wife Barbara of Bryant; a brother, James Buffington and wife Margaret of Benton; four grandchildren, Katlyn, Isaac, Hailey and Hannah Yates; special friends, Marie Gortney of Prattsville and Tricia Parson of Jacksonville, Fla.
A memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at the family home at 1319 Oil Well Road in Traskwood.
Cremation was through Ashby Funeral Home.
