Arkadelphia beats Glen Rose 11-1

March 25, 2011

The Beavers dropped to 6-4 on the season Friday after losing 11-1 to Arkadelphia.

Glen Rose's lone run came in the second inning when sophomore Ethan Beard came home off a sacrifice fly. He had reached base on a single and stolen second base.

Glen Rose head coach Chase Meyers said, "We just couldn't put hits together, and we left a lot of runners stranded.

"I think we left people stranded just about every inning."
He said, "And, when we did get some people on base, they'd make a couple of good plays to retire the side."

Freshman Clay Holicer pitched three inning for the Beavers, allowing nine runs, three of which were earned. Freshman Wesley Ramsey replaced him on the mound, pitching two innings and giving up two earned runs.

"We just didn't look well, and we weren't focused," Meyers said. "We'd have an error in field, and they'd get three runs out of it. That was the story of the entire day.

"We just didn't play well."

Glen Rose begins its conference schedule at Harmony Grove at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
