Authorities still searching for murder suspect

Saline County authorities are investigating the murder of a 35-year-old Traskwood man.
Christopher Patterson reportedly died from a head injury suffered shortly after midnight Saturday and authorities are seeking 64-year-old Danny Wayne Stalnacker for questioning in the case.
A warrant has been issued charging Stalnacker with first-degree murder.
According to Lt. Scotty Courtney of the sheriff's office, Patterson was transported to an area hospital, where it was determined he was suffering from blunt force trauma to the head.  He was rushed into surgery and later died from his injuries, Courtney said.
Authorities became aware of the situation on Saturday, at approximately 12:45 a.m., wheb a Traskwood police officer responded to the Saline River to check out the report of an unconscious person.
The officer reported finding Patterson lying on the ground with a bleeding head wound. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died, Courtney said.
Patterson was a construction worker.
Courtney noted that this is "a open investigation" and said no other information can be released at this time.
The sheriff's office has issued a warrant charging the suspect with first-degree murder.

Funeral for Patterson is scheduled for 10 a,m. Friday at Victory Baptist Church.
