B Town Salt-Bowl-a-Thon set for Aug. 9

July 23, 2013

The second annual B Town Salt-Bowl-a-Thon is set for Friday, Aug. 9. at Enterprise Lanes in Benton.
Put on this year by the Bryant Area Chamber of Commerce, the event is a gathering of all Saline County residents.
“The idea is for one office to challenge another office or branch in another Saline County town, or for one competitor to challenge another competitor in another town,” said Julie Roltsch, chairman for the event.
Included will be a DJ, food, gift card prizes and music, said Rae Ann Fields, executive director of the chamber. "The day will be a great get-away from the office for fellowship with fellow workers and even friendly competitors."
Bowling will begin at 1 p.m.  Trophies will be awarded to the individual who scores the highest and also to the first-, second- and third-place teams.
Entry fee is $200 per team. Lane sponsorships for the event are $100 each. The registration form is available online at www.bryantchamber.com under events.
For more information, call the chamber at 501-847-4702. Registration forms are due by Aug. 1.
Last year’s winner was Saline Memorial Hospital. The city of Bryant placed second and the city of Benton placed third.
“This event last year was a lot of high-energy fun," Fields said. "We want to see if we can do that again."
Sponsors for the event include First Electric Cooperative Corp. and Entergy.
