Bauxite man involved in fatal crash

A Bauxite man was involved in an accident that caused the death of another man Tuesday night on U.S. 70 East in Garland County.

Chuck Elmore, 47, of Bauxite was eastbound in a 2012 Chevrolet on Highway 70 and reportedly did not see two people standing on the side of the road beside their vehicles.

Unable to change lanes, Elmore's vehicle fishtailed and collided with one of the vehicles, striking one of the drivers.

The victim was identified as Scott Andrew Burnham, 58, of Fort Worth, Texas, according to the Arkansas State Police.

Burnham was pronounced dead at the scene by Garland County Deputy Coroner Jayson Neighbors.
The other person standing outside a vehicle was a 12-year-old boy, Austin Murray of Hot Springs, who suffered injuries.

Also injured were three other people sitting inside the vehicle: Karen J. Murray, 48, Jason Murray, 35, and and Kristen Murray, 11, all of Hot Springs.

All of the injured persons were were transported to St. Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs, according to the report.

Elmore did not report any injuries.
