The Benton Police Department is requesting help from the public in locating a local man wanted for multiple felony crimes.
Jeremy David Burrow, 36, has a listed address in the 2600 block of Razorback Road in Benton. A warrant has been issued for his arrest for first-degree forgery, fleeing by vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless driving and driving with a suspended driver’s license.
On Aug. 9, an employee of Murphy USA gas station called police and said a suspicious person was hanging around the store for an extended period. Officer Douglas Speer reportedly drove into the parking lot, spotted Burrow exiting the store walking toward a vehicle and asked him to stop.
Burrow reportedly jumped into a black Ford Mustang and sped out of the parking lot onto Interstate 30 south service road and then onto I-30.
Speer reportedly chased Burrow, each reaching speeds of nearly 125 mph on I-30, until Burrow braked abruptly and crossed the median to get back onto I-30 south service road.
The chase reportedly continued on Alcoa Road until Burrow slammed on his brakes near Lee Circle, threw an object out the window, drove through a ditch and drove onto Lee Circle down to Northshore Drive and turned onto Cedar Ridge Road.
Speer noted that he lost sight of Burrow after turns at Falcon Way, Dove Drive, Eagle Point and Eagle Run. Officers later found the Mustang abandoned in a field off Cedar Ridge Road. Inside the vehicle officers reportedly found two counterfeit $20 bills and methamphetamine paraphernalia. The report noted that the item found in the ditch area of Lee Circle was an empty beer bottle.
Lt. Kevin Russell, public information officer for the Benton Police Department, said Burrow is believed to still be in the Central Arkansas area. He said anyone who comes into contact with Burrow should immediately call 911.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Burrow is encouraged to contact the Benton Police Department at 778-1171 or 315-TIPS (8477), Russell said. Residents also may send an anonymous text concerning Burrow to the telephone number CRIMES (274637) with the keyword BNPD in the body of the text.
