Bernice Sullivan, 95, of Benton, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014 at Saline Memorial Hospital with family by her side.
She was born Feb. 5, 1919. She celebrated her 95th birthday with cake and family.
Bernice was the daughter of the late W.R. and Verda Moore. She was of the Baptist faith.
Bernice and her husband, Hosie, lived most of their married life in Texas, a state she loved. Bernice and her husband drove dump trucks in the Dallas area. She loved driving large trucks. They later retired and moved back to Benton to be near their family.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hosie Sullivan; her brothers, Homer and James Moore; and her sisters, Bertha Noakes, Oleta Standridge and Dimple Louallen.
She is survived by sisters Lona Balding, Dorothy Shelnutt, Alice LaPlant and Jean Gault, all of Benton; her nieces, Faye and Karen, and her nephew, Phillip, all of whom took care of her for the last several years.
Funeral service is scheduled at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Ashby Funeral Home. Visitation will precede the service from noon to 1 p.m.
Burial will follow at New Rosemont Cemetery in Benton.
Pallbearers are Larry Stillman, Randy Brooks, Phillip Carter, Bradley Stillman, Jack Gault and John Paul Shelnutt.
